Brooks is a close-knit town and an outdoor lover’s paradise. The town has a quaint village that includes Brooks Historical Society & Pilley Museum, Marsh River Theater, Country View Golf Club, Marsh River Cooperative, and the beloved and award-winning Ralph’s Cafe. It is home to a wide array of ponds and trails for fishing, canoeing, and snowmobiling.
Brooks Community Park features a large pavilion/concession stand available for lease at very reasonable rates (contact Jane McLaughlin, Town Office 207-722-3254). New dock for easy access getting on the water, extra picnic tables, great place for kids to fish. The park also has little league baseball field, soccer field and a playground. Hikers will enjoy hiking or dog-walking along the beautiful Marsh River.
You can also visit and reflect at the beautiful Veterans Memorial Garden located behind the Town Office, next to the Brooks Volunteer Fire Dept.
- Marsh River Theater over the years has been a movie theater, Masonic lodge, roller skating rink and a jeans factory.
- The Brooks Historical Society & Museum resides in the house where the town's first post office opened in 1819.
