About Us:

The Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce offers a unique blend of business, community/economic development, and advocacy services. We are dedicated to boosting economic vitality and livability across the region by supporting our members and promoting our mission.

Job Overview:  We are seeking a dynamic and organized professional to join our team as a Member and Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fostering strong relationships with our current members while attracting new ones. Your efforts will ensure member satisfaction, engagement, and retention, contributing to the overall success of the Chamber.  This position offers flexible hours of 28 to 35 hours per week, an hourly salary range of $16 to $18, PTO, holiday pay, and retirement plan match.

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Recruitment & Retention: Actively recruit new members by promoting Chamber benefits to businesses and organizations. Develop and implement strategies to retain existing members through regular communication, value-added services, and prompt issue resolution.

Member Onboarding: Welcome new members, providing them with information about membership benefits, services, and involvement opportunities. Ensure a smooth transition into the Chamber community.

Member Engagement: Foster strong relationships with members through regular communication, networking events, educational programs, and member-exclusive opportunities. Encourage active participation in Chamber activities.

Database Management: Maintain accurate member databases, updating contact information, membership status, and other relevant details.

Office Management: Maintain office supplies, equipment, and facilities for a well-functioning work environment.

Correspondence Handling: Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and mail. Respond or redirect as appropriate.

Event Support: Provide administrative support for Chamber events, including logistics coordination, registration management, and preparation of event materials.

Financial Administration: Assist with QuickBooks Online financial tasks such as creating and processing invoices, making deposits, and reconciling accounts under the guidance of the Executive Director.

Volunteer Relations & Visitor Reception: Greet visitors, provide information about Chamber services and activities, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members. Support the efforts of our volunteers with education and scheduling.

Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to Chamber staff, including typing, copying, filing, and other clerical tasks as needed. Supporting our valued volunteers with scheduling and education.

Other Duties: Perform other important duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent organizational abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks Online and database management

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Experience in customer service or membership management is a plus

Availability for some evening and weekend work
